Acceptance of Terms
By accessing and using netschool ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. netschool is a proprietary software-as-a-service platform, not open source software. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the Service.
Description of Service
netschool is a comprehensive school management platform designed to streamline operations for educational institutions. The Service provides tools for:
- Attendance tracking and session management
- Grade calculation, bulk grading, and report card generation
- Assignment management and student assessments
- Real-time messaging and communication (chat, posts, inbox)
- Points and behavior tracking systems
- Certificate generation and management
- Classroom, course, and subject organization
- Timetable and schedule management
- School currency and financial tracking
- Profile management for students, teachers, guardians, and administrators
Proprietary Software License
netschool is proprietary software licensed under a Commercial SaaS License. You do not acquire ownership rights to the software. You are granted a limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to access and use the Service. You may not:
- Modify, reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to access the source code
- Copy, reproduce, distribute, or resell the Service
- White-label, rebrand, or embed the Service into another product
- Use the Service to build competing products or services
- Access non-public APIs or infrastructure without authorization
User Accounts and Roles
Access to the Service is provided through user accounts with role-based permissions. Roles include:
- Superadmin: Full system access across all schools
- Admin: Full administrative access within their assigned school
- Teacher: Access to assigned classes, grading, and student management
- Guardian: Access to their assigned children's information
- Student: Access to their own academic information and resources
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and all activities that occur under your account. Admins may impersonate other users within their school for support purposes.
Authentication
The Service supports multiple authentication methods:
- Password-based authentication with bcrypt hashing (12 rounds)
- Email-based one-time login codes (6-digit)
- JWT token-based session management
- Password reset functionality via email
Acceptable Use
You agree to use the Service only for legitimate educational and administrative purposes. You must not:
- Use the Service for any illegal purpose or violate applicable laws
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to other users' accounts or data
- Share account credentials with unauthorized individuals
- Upload malicious content or viruses
- Interfere with or disrupt the Service's operation
- Use the Service to harass, abuse, or harm others
Data and Content
The Service collects and processes various types of data including:
- User information: name, email, birthdate, profile picture, language preference
- Academic records: grades, attendance, assignments, assessments
- Communication data: messages, posts, comments
- School data: classes, courses, subjects, timetables
- Media files: documents, images, and other uploaded content

Subscription and Billing
The Service is offered on a subscription basis with tiered pricing plans. You agree to:

We reserve the right to modify pricing at any time with notice to existing subscribers. All fees are non-refundable except as required by law.
Intellectual Property
The netschool platform, including all code, designs, features, functionality, and documentation, is the exclusive property of netschool Inc. and is protected by international copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. Content you upload to the Service remains your property, subject to the licenses granted in these Terms.
Termination
We may terminate or suspend your account at any time, with or without cause, including but not limited to:
- Violation of these Terms or our Privacy Policy
- Non-payment of fees
- Suspicious or fraudulent activity
- Abuse of the Service or other users
Upon termination, your right to access the Service immediately ceases. You may request account deletion through your account settings or by contacting our support team.
Disclaimer of Warranties
The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, secure, error-free, or meet your specific requirements.
Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, netschool Inc. shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of data, profits, or business interruption, arising from your use of the Service.
Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless netschool Inc. from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses arising from your misuse of the Service or violation of these Terms.
Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws applicable to netschool Inc.'s place of business, without regard to conflict of law provisions.
Changes to Terms
We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will notify users of significant changes by posting the new Terms on the Service and updating the "Last updated" date. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.
